of titles UFO: Alien Invasion simulates at a strategical and tactical level a hypothetical
invasion of earth by aliens. One is responsible for recruiting soldiers, building
aircraft, researching technologies and more on the strategical level, then leading
small teams of troops into combat on the tactical level. The strategic level happens
in real-time (which can be slowed down or sped up), while the tactical level occurs
in a turn-based method but with 3D models that walk and fight.
Review: I've been watching the UFO: Alien Invasion site for perhaps a few years
now. When I first began watching them there were no downloads. I always loved X-Com
and I was hopeful that UFO: Alien Invasion would be a worthwhile game, but the many
times I returned and found no downloads available discouraged me. Recently I was
going through my old links and happened to pull their site out. I visited their
site only to discover they had reached a release candidate for 2.0. I quickly downloaded
it and was amazed. I love it. The game is great - the graphics are absolutely amazing.
This game is on a par with few other free games on the market today (Wesnoth comes
to mind). If you enjoyed the original X-Com series or enjoy turn-based combat, get
this game!
