FREE Moola Invites - Get Paid to Game.

Well, this section doesn't quite fit into the "Free Wargames" section, but I don't really care. So take it or leave it. This section will discuss the developers of wargames - past and present. I'm a real nerd when it comes to these sorts of things. For some reasons, I find it interesting what games companies have developed in the past, and what games are under development now. Hopefully you can find something useful in all this information.
  • W.R. Hutsell - Independent game developer who gave us a series of DOS games. His best-known are the VGA Civil War Strategy Game and the EGA Civil War Battleset, however, he also wrote the lesser known World War II in Western Europe as well as Wars of Napoleon. All of the games except EGA Civil War Battleset are based on a common strategic engine, while Wars of Napoleon was the theoretical culmination of his work as it integrated the traditional strategical level engine with EGA Civil War Battleset's tactical engine.
  • Jeff Lapkoff - One of those developers who has been long writing games and continues to this game. He began with such famous (and unique games) as Defend the Alamo! and Custer's Last Stand, followed by ZuluWar!, Medieval, and sequels to Defend the Alamo!, Custer's Last Stand, and Medieval. He is currently developing The Drift 1879 and his company was previously known as Incredible Simulations Inc.
  • BattleFront - An aggregator of great wargames they are probably best known for their Combat Mission series, TacOps, and Strategic Command. They have also partnered with Hussar Games to release 1848 and For Liberty! as well as several other developers (Down in Flames, T-72 Balkans on Fire!, DropTeam).
  • Matrix Games - Appearing out of nowhere they have become the SSI of this day. Single-handedly reviving the ailing wargaming industry they have aggregated perhaps the largest single source of wargames. Including free re-releases of Gary Grigsby's classic Pacific War and War in Russia as well as SSI's Steel Panthers they have also released a number of famous new and old wargames - including many Talonsoft titles.
